Abstract

This investigation was applied on 55 puppies of 2-4 months age to evaluate the efficacy of cell culture live attenuated canine parvo virus and ca-nine distemper vaccines and inactivated cell cul-lure rabies virus vaccine used singly or simultane-ously. The efficacy of these vaccines was determined by estimating the antibodies titer using serum neutralization and haemagglutination inhibition tests in puppies sera and the challenge of vaccinated animals with virulent strains of par-‘oO and canine distemper viruses. All vaccinated animals did not show any signs of illness, also neutralizing and haemagglutination inhibition antibodies were detected in puppies ‘ta from one week post vaccination (1 WPV) and“ached to a peak level at 3WPV. This level of an- bodies was nearly the same in both animal ST0UDs vaccinated singly or simultaneously. After challenge, the vaccinated animals were not exhib-ited clinical signs related to either parvo virus or Canine distemper virus infection while the chal-lenged nonvaccinated animals revealed typical clinical manifestation of canine distemper and parvo virus infection. The challenge against ra-bies did not done to avoid its hazard to workers Finally it could be concluded that, simultaneous injection of the above vaccines protected puppies Safety at the same time.
