Cell culture adapted local strain of peste des petit ruminants virus "PPRV" (Egypt-87), was inacti-vated by treatment with binary ethyleneimine(BEI) at the concentrations of 1%, 2% and 3%. Aconcentration of 3% of 0.1 M BEI was found to be the faster one to obtain complete inactivation of 106.5 TCIDSO PPRV within 2 hours. 20% al-iydragel was added as an adjuvant and different doses Were tested to immunize sheep. There was 0 significant differences in the immune responseof animals vaccinated with either 1, 2 or 3ml of the inactivated vaccine. Boostering dose after 1 baton , ne resulted in a better duration of immunity extending to 8 months while it was 5 months on using a single dose of the vaccine .
