The effect of chronic laminitis on the horn growth of Arabian horse’s hoof was evaluated throughout the different seasons of a year. Twen ty randomly selected riding Arabian horses were used in the study. Ten of them were with normal hooves and others were with chronic laminitis in the four feet. The horn growth of the hoof in each of them was measured in millimetres, recorded every 28 days and continued to 12 -measuring times. Arabian horse’s hoof horn growth was es- timated less than that of the foreign breeds. Also, the hoof horn growth in both normal and laminitis was markedly increased during summer sea- son. The growth rate of the hoof horn was in- greased with laminitis, particularly in the heels. Trimming the horses of horses with chronic laminitis should be more frequent than the normal Horses.
